Product Description
Carboy Thermowell Large Cap:
Use this carboy thermowell with a digital temperature controller to ensure accurate fermentation temperature control. The stainless steel thermowell is in contact with the beer or wine so you get an accurate reading during the entire fermentation cycle. Use with an airlock or blow off hose.
Our Thermowells are made from seamless stainless steel tubing, Inside Diameter 0.272 inch, Outside Diameter 5/16 inch, Wall Thickness 0.020 inch, Outside Dia Tolerance +/-.005 In, 304 Stainless Steel.
Fits 5, 6, and 6.5-gallon "Smooth Neck" carboys.

It's the orange cap.

We've probably all owned one of these at some point in our homebrewing career and know all about them. They do their thing but can pop off if you have a vigorous fermentation that attempts to send krausen spewing out the top. This one, however, has a steel thermowell firmly attached to it so that's cool! Works as it should. Insider tip: I trim the other outlet on top ever so slightly so it opens wider and doesn't restrict outflow.

Don't know what more to expect. Thermowell works as expected. Customer service at CoolZone is awesome and I look forward to doing more business with them.

Does not fit 6.5 gal carboy (too big)

Product works great with Auber controller, but the description led me to believe it was the correct size for my carboys. I had to use a zip tie to cinch it down tight. I will need to order the small cap I guess.
